About Me

My name is Shilo Chang and I am a teaching credential student at CSUSM. I attended school in Hawaii until my junior year of high school. I moved to California to live with my aunt the summer of my senior year of high school. I graduated from Sonoma Valley High School. I transferred colleges three times during the six years it took for me to earn my bachelors degree. I finally graduated from Humboldt State University. I loved college but disliked my obligatory education. K-12 is a 13 year blur of boredom.

I am on the lower end of the technology continuum. I know enough to write papers, search the internet, and answer emails. I love the computer revolution, especially now that I am learning how to use all these programs.

The biggest factor in my decision to apply to CSUSM was its location. Aside from CSUSM's convenient location, I find the large number of on-site school hours attractive. A line from the SOE's Mission Statement that appeals to me is "The mission of the School of Education Community is to collaboratively transform public education by preparing thoughtful educators and advancing professional practices." My favorite part of the quote is emphasis on collaboration.
